The Videoart at Midnight Editions series is the result of a discussion with leading experts in the field of time-based media art regarding the conventional art market practice of limitation vs. the artist’s and public’s interest in visibility and representation in a broader range of collections. Hence, the Videoart at Midnight Editions series both addresses the wish of artists and collections for copyright and quality control of art works, and the need of doing justice to an endlessly reproducible medium and affordable prices.

For the series, selected artists who have been featured at the Videoart at Midnight screenings at the Babylon film theater in Berlin over the years, choose a significant work from their oeuvre – film or installation – or produce a new work exclusively. The work is published in an edition of 40 copies and 10 artist proofs and solely available in this series.

The Videoart at Midnight Editions series offers an ever-increasing and valuable insight into the current  film and video art production in Berlin’s international scene, featuring both renowned artists as well as new and promising discoveries.
